Rewheel's input to public consultation of the European Parliament
November 2013
On the 4th of November 2013 Rewheel has submitted its contributions to the public stakeholder consultation launched by the ITRE Committee of the European Parliament on the European Commission's proposal on a telecoms regulation titled 'Connected Continent'.
The Connected Continent proposal, if passed in its current form, will turn the European telecoms markets into US/German-style protected cash-cow oligopolies of a few selected large European (and potentially US) telecoms companies. It will certainly make the pie bigger for the large telecom companies - however, at the expense of smaller Member States, European consumers, businesses, as well as the innovative cloud, video and media startups of the European Digital Single Market.
